Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
My skin is very sensitive; can I use your products?
-TB
You will find that many of our products do not affect your skin because we do not use harsh chemicals and only nature derived essential oils. If you have an allergy to a particular oil, it may still bother you. I would recommend doing the “patch test” with any of our products if you have a concern and see if it affects you.
How can you say that your soap is chemical-free when it is made with Lye?
-RJ
You are correct that lye is used to make soap, it can’t be soap without it, but the process of saponification breaks down the lye until none remains. All that is left in our soap is… well… soap.
Why are your soaps more expensive than the store brands?
-SS
Well... you get what you pay for. Our soaps are nature derived and you can pronounce everything in our soaps. You will not find any chemicals in our product, plus our soaps have the glycerin still in them. Most store bought soaps remove the glycerin from the soap to sell it to you in a separate bar… our thought on that was “what a waste.”
Since you only use vegetable and fruit oils, doesn’t that make your soap VEGAN?
- MD
Why yes it does… thank you for pointing that out!
How long does natural soap last?
-RF
I can say that soap does get better with age – in some regards. As your bar of soap sits on the shelf, the bar continues to age, or as well call it “cure”. This means that the bar losses water mass. Your bar does get a bit lighter through this process, but hardens creating a longer lasting bar. The only issue that you may have is a loss of the essential oil in the soap which means a less fragrant bar.
What the heck is solid shampoo?
-LW
What do you mean? It’s shampoo in solid form. :D I thought it was a bit weird as well, but after I tried it for a few days – I was hooked and now there is many less bottles hanging around for me to knock over.
